you only live once what they tell me but i
say that we live everyday then we die once
i wanna see clouds when i first lift my eyelids
i wanna do more with my breath than surviving
i wanna hear stars up close painting the sky
i wanna touch daisies and roses and lilacs
i wanna smell aromas of pastries and i
wanna do more with my breath than survive ya

i been scared of reality i
know i got sumn special inside i
am not cut for this world and i
feel i been stifled from the person that i
am s’pposed to be
hope i wasn’t gifted with ability
to paint vivid pictures with melody and 1 2 step to tempo
just to keep it all in the safe of my dreams
that i lock hide away in the gyri of my brain
and they never get to see the light of day
it’s not fair
i finally see what i always wanted
but now life’s keeping me from it
now i got a fear i don’t want it
as bad as i say
i envy kids in their own little worlds
and they never had a taste of the bitter potion
that the system diagnose to keep the adults sick yuck!

i shuffle the cards that i’m dealt
and sort my hand and play i do magic uh
i can’t just give up now
done came too far to turn back i can’t panic uh
and i’m too stubborn to stop
keep beating this nail til it’s down with a mallet uh
i gotta make sure every second that’s free is a second well spent and it’s spent well done
every breath is a fresh start, uh
every breathe in is a chance to
hit the reset if i just screwed up
and i exhale let it go and let it all out uh
we live everyday and die once, uh

so i take it one day at a time
