steve lacy put out a project titled "Steve Lacy's Demo" made up of songs that were all done on his iPhone. he recorded his vocals and programmed the drums using the GarageBand app, and hooked up his guitar and bass with the iRig. he said, "[I wanted] to inspire and give the message to just use what you have... I wanted to make the best possible project that I can with this little thing..."

this philosophy of "the bare maximum" inspired me to put this mixtape together. i wrote all these songs in my bedroom and made them with a $100 mic, fruity loops, and whatever beats I could get a hold of, either from my friends or on youtube.

cause even without the full studio or the musical talent, i still have my pen, the mixing skills i grew over the years doing it myself, and my basic equipment. and i used them to make the best project i could make.

i do this to cope with life. maybe you feel the same. hope you enjoy.
